We
had a great opportunity to hold a workshop at the In the beginning Yoko Trapp, senior administrator of the
Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy (CCST), talked about Shiatsu,
curriculum of CCST and the spread of Shiatsu in
British Columbia.
When she
described that the demand for
Shiatsu is rising in
Moreover, we attempted for the
first time to invite
Takashi Sakai, who graduated from CCST, as a guest speaker. Mr. Sakai takes great pride
in his job as a
Shiatsupractor. He
telling stories to the
participants in a different perspective than the CCST (You can watch
his
lecture video under the article)
Participants asked many question
even during break
time and CCST information clearly answered each question. After the ten minute break,
a demonstration of
Shiatsu for the sitting position was instructed. During
the demonstration of Shiatsu for the sitting
position Akiko Miyamoto, an administrator, explained about pressure
points by
using a projector and also using a human participant. After
that,
participants paired with each other and they tried the shiatsu for the
sitting
position treatment. They
found it very
difficult the first time, but they were getting used to it after some
practice
and started to enjoy it.
As I said, we
periodically have
workshops and we have already scheduled the next workshop in September.
If you
are interested in Shiatsu please participate in a workshop. Also if you would like to
take classes the
starting day for next semester is May 7th. Classes
include a practice section of a small
number of students at a time. For
this
reason we suggest you register as soon as possible. If you have any
question,
please contact:
