Work at Japan Fair in VanDusen Botanical Garden
Mar. 28-29, '09
Vancouver
Cherry Blossom Festival has been held for a month March 28-April 24 in Vancouver Canada. The Japan
Fair which is part of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival was held at
VanDusen Botanical Garden for two days March 28-29. Nowadays, diffusion
of Japanese Culture in Canada has expanded
quite dramatically. For instance, the Japan Fair was also a part of
the“80th
Anniversary of Japan-Canada Relations”. The Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy held “The 15th
International Shiatsu Conference
Vancouver” for celebrating this anniversary.

At the Japan Fair, the Canadian
College of Shiatsu Therapy set up a Shiatsu
booth, and our students demonstrated 10-20min. table Shiatsu treatment.
It was crowded
with people from all cultures as well as the Japanese who have an
interest in Japanese
Culture. At our Shiatsu booth, a lot of people received
“Shiatsu treatment” a
Japanese traditional hands-on therapy. It was a nice way for people to
relax
after enjoying the day of events and to heal their tired bodies. It was
a huge
success two-day event. Through events such as this, we hope that many
people become
more aware of Shiatsu treatment in Canada.
