Shiatsu Doantion for Fundraising for Japan Earthquake at Japan Fair  

 April 2-3, 2011

Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival has been held for a month March 26-April 22 in Vancouver Canada. The Japan Fair which is part of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival was held at VanDusen Botanical Garden for two days April 2-3.
At the Japan Fair, the Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy set up a Shiatsu booth, and our students demonstrated 15-30min. table Shiatsu treatment on 76 visitors. The proceeds after deduction of the booth fee+HST (CN$737.5) send to Red Cross to support Japan Earthquake and Tsunami happened on March 11, 2011.　Japan Fair Organizing Committee put donation boxes and we all support together. The donation $737.5 has been sent to Japan Red Cross on April 6th.
It was crowded with people from all cultures as well as the Japanese who have an interest in Japanese Culture. On the stage, Noh-plays, picture-story shows, Kimono-wearing etc were held. At our Shiatsu booth, a lot of people received “Shiatsu treatment” a Japanese traditional hands-on therapy. It was a huge success two-day event. Through events such as this, we hope that many people become more aware of Shiatsu treatment in Canada.
