Notice of Change in Student Recruitment Policy

As of today, the Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy has ceased the recruitment of international students for the Diploma Program.

Certificate courses (which are shorter than 6 months) are still available to international students.

Admission is now open for the January 2026 intake.

New English Language Requirements for All Applicants

As of January 2025, in accordance with amendments to the Private Training Act, our institution has changed its method for verifying English language proficiency.
Regardless of whether an applicant is an international student, a permanent resident of Canada, or a Canadian citizen, all applicants must meet the English language proficiency admission requirements for all programs.

Overview of the new requirements:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Completion of Grades 9 to 11 in a country where English is one of the principal languages, with a grade of ‘C’ or higher in English 11
  • Completion of two years of full-time post-secondary education at an accredited institution where English is the language of instruction
  • Submission of valid test scores (taken within two years prior to the program start date) from one of the following English language proficiency tests, meeting or exceeding the specified scores:
    • IELTS (Academic): 5.5 or higher
    • TOEFL iBT: 46 or higher
    • CAEL: 40 or higher
    • Duolingo English Test: 95 or higher
    • PTE Academic: 43 or higher
    • EIKEN: Grade Pre-1 or higher
